Pollaidh - The Founding Dog of Dolphins
Pollaidh

Pollaidh (pronounced Polly) was named after Stac Pollaidh which is a munro in Scotland, Pollaidh actually means “Peaty Bog”. It is surprising to know that both of Pollaidh parents were predominately red Border Collies.

Pollaidh had been obsessed with a ball ever since she was a puppy and she never forgot anyone that had thrown a ball for her. Pollaidh will be remembered for "mugging" people of their time to throw a ball for her, she will be missed around the Flyball circuit.

It is because of Pollaidh that Bridget and Steve got into flyball, so Dolphins wouldn't exist without her - indeed the team got named after one of her favourite toys!

What people remember:

"I'll always remember her for gatecrashing the football match at Rotherham."

"One of the highlights of our stays at Anglesey was to watch Pollaidh gently persuading people to play ball with her and 99 times out of 100 they did (and so did we!)."

"I remember her engaging a couple who had nothing to do with Flyball and who were just passing by our show with their dogs and kids a couple of years ago. They had no idea who she was, but played along all the same. "
